Charitable contributions for a law-firm make perfect sense. It allows a great way to market the firm in a positive light on any topic the business would like to grow. Whether it means speaking to a charity such as Boys and Girls Club, your local Lions or Rotary to perhaps sponsor an event everyone wants to learn new things and raise money for a favorite cause and if done correctly can be a complete write off for the law firm (less meals of course). So in the last few days of 2015 and there is not enough time to fundraise, send out a charitable invite in 2016 on social media i.e. Facebook, TWITTER. Maybe do a YOU-TUBE describing ways the firm is more than just a problem solver, but a money raiser and helping others in less wealthier communities (there are plenty of those in Silicon Valley) prosper.
Donating free legal services at a coffee at a church or library (there are always conference rooms) or a community center (Los Gatos has one and it is very inexpensive to book and can even be free if a topic addresses seniors (i.e. Probate, wills trusts etc). Promote the date on social media (Put it on Meet-up or E-vite) and those vehicles have built in reminders on the date) and can even be custom for the particular event. So any firm can be creative and it is an out of the box way to think using charity and giving and education to attract new clients. When people that have never heard of you and see connection to a good cause or less known charitable endeavor word spreads and word of mouth is the best referral there is. You never really read law firms being charitable so start and get that charitable cause moving today.
